FORD AXOD/AXOD-E NEW DESIGN SOLENOID PACK FOR 1995 VEHICLE

 
 
CHANGE:
Beginning at the start of production for 1995, all models of the E40D transmission were produced with a new design solenoid pack, that will not interchange with the previous models.

REASON:
New design vehicle harness connector with grommet installed, to eliminate contamination from water and road debris, that may cause corrosion.

PARTS AFFECTED:
SOLENOID PACK - New design solenoid assembly case connector to accommodate the new
design vehicle harness connector. Refer to Figure 1 for identification of the previous design and
the new design solenoid assemblies.
NOTE: The plastic sleeve incorporated in the previous design solenoid pack has been eliminated on the new design solenoid pack (See Figures 1 and 2). This plastic sleeve will sometimes remain on the vehicle harness connector when it is disconnected. If a new solenoid pack is installed (which includes sleeve), it will be impossible to reconnect the vehicle harness to the solenoid pack until the old sleeve is removed (See Figure 2).

INTERCHANGEABILITY:
The previous design solenoid assembly will fit only 1989-1994 model vehicles, and the new design solenoid assembly will fit only 1995-UP models. They will not interchange!

SATURN DELAYED OR HARSH REVERSE ENGAGEMENT

COMPLAINT:
1993 Saturn's, equipped with MP6 or MP7 automatic transaxles, may exhibit "Delayed" and/or "Harsh" engagement's into Reverse, after the vehicle is at operating temperature. Also, there may be repeat failures of the external filter seal, causing fluid loss.

CAUSE:
The cause may be,
(1)A broken "Line Pressure Regulator Valve Cushion Spring."
(2)"Side to Side" Pressure Regulator Valve bore wear.

CORRECTION:
Warm vehicle up to operating temperature. Remove temperature sensor and install a 0-300 psi. pressure gage, as shown in Figure 1. Remove 7.5 amp. Line Pressure Actuator fuse shown in Figure 2. Place selector in Reverse at an Idle and ensure that line pressure is not less than 175 psi. If the pressure gage indicates low pressure, remove the valve body and dis-assemble the Pressure regulator valve line up as shown in Figure 3. Locate the Line Pressure Regulator Valve Cushion Spring and inspect it for breakage. If the spring is not broken, reinstall the pressure regulator
and place a flashlight over the valve body, shown in Figure 3, and look for light peering out between the valve and its bore. If light is seen or the Line Pressure Regulator Valve Cushion Spring is broken, replace the upper valve body with Saturn upper valve body kit, part no. 21005813.Some hot car tools details from http://www.autobossv30.org/ like elm327 bluetooth and Multi Diag maybe are useful

NISSAN MAXIMA RE4FO2A REPEATED FRONT SEAL LEAK

COMPLAINT:
Before and/or after rebuild, vehicle exhibits a condition of a repeated front seal leak. The front seal may appear to have popped out of the converter housing.

CAUSE:
One cause may be that during the rebuild procedure the front pump seal was installed too deeply into the converter housing. When this happens, the seal will block off approximately half of the drain back hole in the pump causing an increase of oil pressure behind the seal. Due to the increased pressure, the front seal may either pop out of the converter housing, or oil may blow past the seal between the seal lip and the converter hub.

CORRECTION:
To correct the problem use a die grinder and cut a round notch into the seal approximately the same size as the drain back hole, then index the seal into the converter housing lining up the notch that you just cut, with the drain back hole. Refer to Figure 1 for location of the drain back hole in the converter housing and location of round notch in seal. It has been ATSG’s experience that OEM seals have a better retention rate than some of the aftermarket seals.

Work with a calculator look at the example of Audi(93C46chip).After reading the memory is recommended to check the calculator call in the automatic mode,then to press the calculator auto-detection button(1)and in the dialogue box to select a file with this car.In the case of automatic identification on your screen will work the calculator with the selected type of vehicle.Then you set the needed type of transponder in the device coil and press a key generation.(2) In case of need,save the updated data file(this is determined by the presence of a button"Save Data"at calculator screen).In case of no recognition in the automatic mode,you must manually select the brand and type of car from the menu“Calc”. Next at selected calculator screen,first set the selected type of car,and then load the read data from it.In the case of manufacture of several car keys (1and2or2and3) if you want to save changed data,to save after the first generation,and before the second generation to load already saved version of the data.
